Honouring Their Legacy Today

The annual Convoy Cup Sailpast sees recreational ship owners symbolically carry the banner of merchant marine or naval ships lost during their journeys. Departing from the Bedford Basin, they re-enact a convoy’s historic departure, honouring those who sailed before them.

A Symbolic Flagship

HMCS Sackville

Serving as the flagship, HMCS Sackville is where veterans, their families, and dignitaries review the fleet, receiving salutes from each passing ship. This emotional tradition links the past with the present.
